José Mesquita - CEO | Chief Engineer

Jose's engineering and project management career has expanded over four decades. Graduating from the top engineering school in Brazil, he went on to dedicate the majority of his career to managing and leading the construction of chemical plants with budgets exceeding $50-$100 million dollars per project in the US, Canada, India, China, Brazil, France, Mexico, Venezuela and Indonesia.

In conjunction with owning a successful engineering consulting firm, Jose has spent the last 18 years purchasing land and homes for flipping, renovating and for new construction.  With the assistance of his family and their talents, he has successfully bought and sold many homes after adding their unique and constantly evolving JBM touch. He has been vital in paving the way in multiple industries such as oil & gas, carbon black, mining to name a few.  Jose's vast experience, extreme attention to detail and strong code of ethics truly makes him one of the most well respected and sought after engineers in his field.

Vera Mesquita - Design

Vera has spent much of her life enjoying the challenges of home building and design.  Driven by her vast experiences while living in several different countries (US, Brazil, Canada, India, China, France, Mexico and Indonesia), she naturally obtained a worldly education of culture and decor.  She decidedly became a student of her environment and used the gift of living abroad to soak up as much creativity as she could lay her eyes on.  Vera brought her incredibly unique gift back to the United States and has been putting her touch on clients' homes ever since.  Through her tireless research and love of keeping up with current trends, there has never been a house she couldn't work with. 

Vera operates from the belief that a home should not only be a beautiful place to live in but it is crucial that it accentuates your daily and long-term needs. In her years of flipping, renovating and designing new homes, she has been the keen eye that her team has come to rely on.  Vera is a vital part of our interior design power team who will not only ensure that your home is functional, but that it is beautiful and most importantly livable.

Juliana Mesquita - Operations Manager/Design Assistant

Juliana possesses years of experience in overseeing projects, managing hundreds of employees and perfecting the customer experience.  Two days prior to graduating from the University of Georgia, she and her sister, Keila, launched their first business.  It quickly grew into multiple locations and they eventually expanded with a chain of salons and retail boutiques throughout the Southeast.  It was through the design and build-outs of those businesses that Juliana's love for construction grew.  During the company's initial growth, budget was tight, so she learned the ins-and-outs of construction and design.  Pouring her full attention into the development of 10 locations, Juliana established her position in the world of construction.

Handling many sides of the projects for 22 years, Juliana came to understand that although there are many aspects that need to be given adequate attention, none are more important than the customer experience.  With her focus on honesty, quality and attention to detail, she proudly brings that mentality to JBM Design and Build to ensure that business is run fairly and clients experience a smooth and enjoyable journey from day one until the day they walk into their beautiful new home.
